ELNA Committees

ELNA has formed various groups over the years with each focused on a particular area of interest. These groups are referred to as committees. The committee members are neighbors who volunteer to help make this a great neighborhood. We are always inviting neighbors to participate in any committees in which they are interested. Program Committee

Program Committee shall be chaired by the Vice President and charged with the responsibility for providing a program for each meeting of the membership.

Directory and Communications Committee

Directory and Communications Committee shall be responsible for the compilation and printing of a neighborhood directory and for informing the membership of the Association’s business and news.

Safety and Security Committee

Safety and Security Committee shall be responsible for surveying the neighborhood for areas of safety hazards and informing the appropriate governmental body or formulating a plan of remedial action. They shall also be responsible for maintaining a census of criminal activity in our neighborhood and reporting any such activity to the membership. They shall also be responsible for the continuation of the “neighborhood watch” crime prevention program.

Civic Awareness Committee

Civic Awareness Committee shall be responsible for reporting to the membership any proposals which would in any way effect our neighborhood regarding public education, zoning and ordinance changes, and taxation.

Neighborhood Improvement Committee

Neighborhood Improvement Committee shall be responsible for increasing the awareness of the membership of their role in the conserving and promoting of neighborhood property values.

Hospitality and Interest Groups Coordination Committee

Hospitality and Interest Groups Coordination Committee shall be responsible for the welcoming and introduction of new residents to our neighborhood and to the Association. They shall be responsible for the introduction of new residents to any active neighborhood interest groups and the introduction of interested members to the various groups. They shall be responsible for hosting at Association meetings if any is so requested.

Yard of the Month Committee

The Yard of the Month Committee shall be responsible for selecting the Yard of the Month winners for the months of June, July, and August. There shall be one home selected from the west side of North Portland Avenue as well as from the east side. The committee may also select seasonal winners such as Halloween and Christmas.
