A note of thanks to Sharon Hopkins, Pat Downey, and Mike Bales. Sharon weeded and mulched the Edgewater Drive entry way gardens and arranged for the cleanup of the berms. Pat helped with the cleanup of the berms and planted the Canna plants. Mike has been watering the trees and the berms for us in this tremendous heat. Your volunteering is appreciated. Last but not least, a thank you to all of our neighbors along the Portland corridor that maintain their yards which enhances the beauty of our neighborhood.

We have all noticed the increase in solicitors in the neighborhood trying to get roofing business; many door to door. You know the world has plenty of scam artist and we should be on guard about dealing with door to door solicitors. Spring time is a big time for home repair scams. Anything from cleaning your carpets, repaving your drive, or roofing your house are jobs people may offer to do at a fabulous price: but in the end it could cost you much more. Additionally never let a door to door solicitor in your home and be aware of your surroundings when working outside. I would suggest that if you haven’t decided on a roofing company yet, you should ask your neighbors that have, and find out what type of service they are getting. You also have the option to contact the Better Business Bureau regarding the companies working in our neighbor and base you decision on their recommendation.
